Handcrafted of Sterling silver in James Nuradeen's jewelry workshop in Accra, Ghana, this guinea hen pendant is a fine example of traditional West African filigree.  Filigree is a delicate kind of jewellery metalwork made with tiny beads, twisted threads, or both in combination, soldered together and arranged in artistic motifs. It often suggests lace and remains popular in Indian, Asian and African metalwork.  It measures 1 1/4" wide.
